Mel Blanc began his network radio career with an appearance on The Joe Penner Show. The versatile performer soon become one of the busiest actors in West Coast radio with roles on Burns and Allen, The Jack Benny Show, The Cisco Kid and The Great Gildersleeve. Between his radio commitments, Blanc found time to provide most of the voices in Warner Brothers' Loony Tunes. The Mel Blanc Fix-It Shop was heard over the CBS airwaves beginning September 3, 1946.
